Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Yamme, a community platform for creating and joining free recreational pickup sports games.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Yamme, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
2. Purpose and role of Yamme
Yamme is a community sports project with a non-profit mission. It provides technology that helps users discover outdoor facilities, create games, join games, manage attendance, review organizers, and communicate essential game information. Its goals are to help make greater use of outdoor sports fields, help people play close to home, encourage more frequent outdoor activity, and keep participation in community pickup games free. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Yamme is not the organizer, owner, operator, referee, coach, employer, agent, insurer, or supervisor of a user-created game.
3. Non-commercial use
Yamme is intended for personal, recreational, and non-commercial pickup sports use. Games created through the platform must be free to join unless Yamme later introduces a clearly disclosed feature governed by separate terms.
You may not use Yamme to sell products or services, promote a business or brand, offer paid coaching or refereeing, organize paid leagues or tournaments, solicit sponsorships, distribute affiliate links, recruit customers, resell access, scrape user information for business purposes, or obtain an undisclosed commercial benefit.
4. Eligibility and accounts — 18+ only
Yamme is an adult-only platform. You must be at least 18 years old to create or use a Yamme account, create a game, join a game, use matchmaking or availability features, or otherwise participate through the platform.
If you are under 18, you must not create an account or use account-only Yamme features. Parental or guardian permission does not make an under-18 user eligible to use Yamme.
Yamme does not require a date of birth for ordinary account creation and does not independently verify age as part of the normal signup process. By creating an account, accepting these Terms, or continuing to use an account, you represent and confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
You must provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You may not impersonate another person, sell or transfer an account, create fraudulent accounts, or create replacement accounts to avoid enforcement.
5. Creating and organizing games
Organizers must provide accurate information about the sport, date, time, location, capacity, skill level, equipment, restrictions, and reservation status. Do not claim that a facility is reserved unless the required permission or reservation has actually been obtained.
Organizers are responsible for reasonable coordination of the listing they create. Creating, confirming, or organizing a game does not guarantee attendance, facility access, suitable weather, safe conditions, or completion of the game.
6. Joining games and attendance
Join only when you genuinely intend to attend. Review the listing, determine whether the activity is appropriate for you, arrive on time, bring required equipment, follow facility rules, and cancel promptly if your plans change.
Attendance history, XP, ratings, and similar community signals are informational only. They may be incomplete, disputed, or based on user-provided information and are not guarantees of identity, skill, safety, trustworthiness, or future conduct.
7. Facilities
Users are responsible for confirming whether a facility is open, available, safe, permitted for the intended activity, and subject to bookings, permits, fees, or local rules. A facility appearing on Yamme does not mean its owner sponsors, approves, or reserves it for a game.
8. Assumption of risk
Sports involve risks including falls, collisions, physical contact, overexertion, equipment failure, weather exposure, property damage, injury, illness, and death. Participation is voluntary. You are responsible for assessing your health, ability, equipment, and playing conditions and for obtaining medical advice when appropriate.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
9. Conduct and prohibited use
You must follow the Community Guidelines. Harassment, discrimination, threats, fraud, dangerous conduct, impersonation, privacy violations, spam, malicious code, unauthorized scraping, manipulation of ratings or attendance, exploitation of minors, false reports, and attempts to evade restrictions are prohibited.
10. User content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Yamme a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, reproduce, format, display, moderate, and store that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, moderate, and improve the platform.
You must have the right to submit your content and must respect privacy, confidentiality, intellectual-property, and other legal rights. Yamme may use automated and human moderation tools to detect prohibited content, spam, unsafe links, abuse, or policy violations.
11. Reports, moderation, and enforcement
Yamme may review reports and relevant account, profile, game, attendance, review, and support information. Depending on the circumstances, Yamme may remove content, cancel listings, issue warnings, restrict features, remove organizer privileges, suspend accounts, permanently close accounts, preserve evidence, or contact authorities where appropriate or legally required.
Automated moderation can make mistakes. Where appropriate, users may request review of significant moderation or enforcement decisions through support.
12. Third-party services and availability
The platform may rely on maps, authentication, database, hosting, email, geocoding, analytics, security, and other third-party services. Yamme does not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, accurate third-party information, facility availability, user identity, attendance, or appropriate user behaviour.
13. No warranties
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Yamme is provided on an “as available” basis. Yamme does not make guarantees about the accuracy of user content, suitability of facilities, conduct of participants, success of a match, or fitness of the platform for a particular recreational purpose. Mandatory legal warranties and consumer protections remain unaffected.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Yamme is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from user-organized games, facility conditions, cancellations, no-shows, another user’s conduct, inaccurate user content, or service interruptions. This section does not limit liability or consumer rights where applicable law prohibits doing so.
15. Suspension, termination, and deletion
Yamme may restrict or terminate access for material violations, fraud, safety risks, repeated disruption, commercial misuse, enforcement evasion, or legal necessity. Users may stop using Yamme and request account deletion at any time, subject to limited retention permitted or required for legal, security, safety, dispute, or backup purposes.
16. Changes to these Terms
Yamme may update these Terms when the service, risk profile, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate notice and an updated effective date. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without limiting mandatory consumer, privacy, civil, or other rights that cannot be waived by contract. Any forum or jurisdiction clause must operate subject to those mandatory rights.
